Well, heres a new OC of mine for my Azumanga Daioh fanfiction 'Ashes'.
Her name (wearing the beret, btw) is Major Aika Sakura. In the Ashes fan fic she's Sakaki's harder-than-a-coffin nail mother. And she doesn't take crap from anyone.

Age: 43 (At time of death)
Weapons: G36 Rifle, Mk23 SOCOM
Aika Sakura is Sakaki’s mother and was a Major in the JGSDF Special Forces when the war broke out, and was thrust into active service almost immediately. She was attached to a squad of the German KSK special forces. During a mission with the unit, she saved two KSK soldiers even though she was gravely wounded. It impressed the KSK soldiers so much they made her an honorary member and gave her a KSK beret and allow to wear the KSK unit badge on her left sleeve. This was also how she acquired a G36 as her primary weapon. After she recovered from her wounds, she returned to Japan to lead her own squad, codenamed ‘Echo-174’.
Her tough personality and time away from home made herself and her daughter drift apart, so when Aika found her daughter in the her new squad, she treated Sakaki as if she was just another recruit.
Over time, and after Sakaki was wounded saving a little girl, Aika and Sakaki began to repair their mother and daughter relationship. Aika eventually promoted Sakaki to Sergeant, telling Sakaki that she had always been proud off her, and she wished she could have been there for her daughter more.
Sadly, Aika was killed in action two weeks later, destroying a Soviet tank that had the squad pinned down during the battle in the ‘Fields of Gold‘.
Under heavy fire, Aika managed to attach magnetic explosives to the tank, but was mortally wounded as she tried to get to cover and was caught in the resulting explosion. Kagura gathered up her remains, and gave Sakaki de-facto command of the squad by giving her Aika’s G36 rifle.
Aika lead Echo-174 toughly through their first years of the war, never calling anyone by their given name, only ‘Sakura’, ‘Kawada’, ‘Mizuhara’, etc. The first time she used a given name in the squad was when she whispered ’Sakaki’ when her daughter was wounded.

I think it came out pretty well, Sakaki could be better on my part, but then again, everything could be slightly better eh?
